The goal of all food distribution is to move the products so that the original food safety and food quality are maintained as cost-effectively as possible.

Generally speaking, handling, storage and transportation of frozen and chilled food should be at a temperature that ensures that health hazards can not occur. The general rule is that the product temperature indicated on the packaging should be kept throughout the entire supply chain if nothing else is required by legislation or other guidelines.
